Nordic Stainless Steel Tanks LT, JSC

The main activity of the company is design, consulting services.

Nordic Stainless Steel Tanks LT was established to develop and market grain shell chromatography technology that would allow the extraction of xylitol from oat husks.

Nordic Stainless Steel Tanks LT together with Astra LT AB designs, consults and sells stainless steel tanks and pressure vessels.

UAB Nordic Stainless Steel Tanks LT implements the project “Development of xylitol extraction technology from oat husks”, No. 01.2.1-LVPA-K-856-02-0027, financed by the European Regional Development Fund (project budget – € 285,714.23, funding – € 199,999.97).

The aim of the project is to develop a technology that will enable the industrial extraction of xylitol from oat husks. The new technology would allow oat husks to be used as biofuel or fertilizer, but before all that it would be preceded by the extraction of an expensive and valuable nutrient called xylitol.

This technology for the industrial separation of xylitol from grain husks is not yet available on the world market. The possibility of using low-value waste (husks) separated during grain (oat) milling for the production of xylitol is very promising, as it would help to solve the ecological problem and reduce CO2 emissions, as oat husks, which are currently separated during milling, are used as biofuels for energy production. or as fertilizer in agricultural fields.
