AI-4-EU call for challenges
Receive funding of up to € 10.000 for the 13 selected Challenge Owners that enters the 6-months Support Program with a Solution Provider.
WHAT’s the Challenge?
For this contest, a Challenge is defined as a particular problem with an industrial, business or societal impact that can be solved by exploiting the existing AI resources included on the AI4EU Platform or developing new components and has potential to be replicable in the sector.
WHAT kind of projects are we looking for?
AI4EU is looking for challenges based on AI technologies. These should aim to help business and the public sector, with a special emphasis on SMEs, to run their business and activities more efficiently or to deliver innovative services to their customers and citizens.
Challenges with impact on pandemic situations will be prioritized by scoring extra points during the expert evaluation.
WHO can Apply?
The call for challenges is addressed to the following type of applicants:
- SMEs
- Mid-Caps
- Large Companies
- AI4EU Consortium Partners
Only beneficiaries external to the consortium will be funded.
WHAT’s the benefit for you?
The 13 best challenges will be addressed for free under the Support Program by solution providers selected in the Open Call for Solutions.
Financial Support in cash:

Up to € 10.000 for the best 13 Challenges (excluding AI4EU consortium partners), only if the solution to the challenge will be identified and selected to develop under the Support Program.
Non-Financial Support benefits the Challenge Owners with:
- Support from the AI4EU consortium in defining and solving the particular problem using AI
- Developing a solution for the Challenge for free during the Support Program by the solution providers selected in the Call for Solutions,
- Visibility through AI4EU digital channels and events as AI4EU Ambassadors.
