OUR COMMUNITY

Lithuanian and foreign businesses, other organizations are joining forces in growing the maritime innovation ecosystem. Lithuanian Maritime Cluster that has been established in Klaipeda on 30 June 2020, aims to become a platform for the development of high value-added products and services.

The predecessor of the new platform was the Lithuanian LNG cluster, which started its activities in 2006 and managed to attract  17 members, representing lithuanian and foreign business organisations, science and research institutions. Strong partnerships and our determination to expand the range of activities and themes lead us to explore new challenges and possibilities.

The community of the Maritime cluster will be consistently expanded in order to include even more companies from Lithuania and foreign countries, representing relevant industries.


ACTIVITIES:

Initiation of innovative technological projects; development of high value-added products/ services; development of research infrastructure; development of the startup ecosystem; networking; pooling/ attracting resources;c ompetence development (Blue Growth Leaders Academy program and other initiatives); dissemination of information about innovative solutions/ projects.

Klaipeda Free Economic Zone

Klaipėda Free Economic Zone (FEZ) is the first and most successful FEZ in the Baltic States. It is the largest tax free zone in Lithuania, consisting of 412 ha of land for manufacturing plants, logistic and business park development. Klaipeda University

Klaipėda University is a multidisciplinary educational institution, a national and Baltic Region leader in the field of marine sciences and studies. Currently, its academic provision is delivered by three faculties and three research and study institutes. The University has about 4,000 students. Over 60 scientific research laboratories, a research vessel- laboratory Mintis, a research and training sailboat Brabander, and a yacht Odyssey as integral part of the KU marine research infrastructure play an important role in the University research activities.

Lithuanian Maritime Academy (LMA) is a public institution of higher education training highly qualified seafarers and universal specialists for the Maritime Industry.

For the providing of the  studies are responsible 3 departments in the LMA: Navigation Department; Maritime Engineering Department; Port Economics and Management Department.

Vilnius Vocational School of Railway and Business Services

Vilnius School of Railway Transport and Business Services trains not only specialists required for railways, but also specialists in  logistics, business and IT. Vocational training is provided in 4 areas of education: transport services, engineering, information and communication technologies, business and administration. Over 200 students graduate each year.

VIVA GRID

The main fields of activities of corporate group SG dujos – is the development of infrastructure of compressed (CNG) and liquefied (LNG) natural gas, as well as the use and development of this environmentally friendly fuel in transport and industrial sectors of Lithuania. The main activity of the UAB VIVA GRID is the use of natural gas in industrial plants by replacing the polluting energy sources with environment-friendly ones.
